Manawatu Archery Club hosted the National Indoor Championships for the first time as a single venue event in September 2012. In 2011, it was held simultaneously in Palmerston North and Dunedin. This is the view in the B & M Ballroom before the first end was shot.

Rounds

The below is a table summaries key points about the main competitive rounds shot in New Zealand. It is also available as a much prettier and convenient one pager download here.

Table 1 shows the distances shot for the 1440 round which encompass 36 arrows shot at each of 4 different distances. Each round in this table is listed vertically. In contrast the 720 rounds encompass 36 arrows shot twice at the same distance.

Tables 2 to 5 show the rounds shot by recurve female, recurve male, compound female and compound male archers respectively. Distances 1 and 2 ("dist 1|2" in the below) are shot on the same target face, as are distances 3 and 4 ("dist 3|4"). The word "full" to describe a target face indicates the full 10 zone scoring, whereas "5to10" indicates that only the 5 to 10 scoring zones are found on the target, i.e. no black or white outer rings are present.
